A representation of recursively enumerable sets through Horn formulas in higher recursion theory

چکیده
We extend a classical result in ordinary recursion theory to higher recursion theory, namely that every recursively enumerable set can be represented in any model A by some Horn theory, where A can be any model of a higher recursion theory, like primitive set recursion, αrecursion, or β -recursion. We also prove that, under suitable conditions, a set defined through a Horn theory in a set A is recursively enumerable in models of the above mentioned recursion theories.

Formal Mathematical Systems including a Structural Induction Principle
This study provides a general frame for the generation of languages in recursive systems closely related to formal grammars, for the predicate calculus and a constructive induction principle. We introduce recursive systems generating the recursively enumerable relations between lists of terms, the basic objects under consideration. A recursive system consists of axioms which are special quantif...
متن کاملInterpretability over Peano Arithmetic
We investigate the modal logic of interpretability over Peano arith metic PA Our main result is an extension of the arithmetical complete ness theorem for the interpretability logic ILM This extension concerns recursively enumerable sets of formulas of interpretability logic rather than single formulas As corollaries we obtain a uniform arithmetical completeness theorem for the interpretability...
متن کاملOn the Degrees of Index Sets. Ii
In [8] we proved that the index-set corresponding to any recursively enumerable degree a is of the highest isomorphism-type possible for sets belonging to S3(a). From the proof of this result we derived Sacks' theorem [4] that the recursively enumerable degrees are dense. In the present paper we classify three other indexsets associated with any given recursively enumerable degree a, namely the...
متن کاملRecursion Theory I
This document presents the formalization of introductory material from recursion theory — definitions and basic properties of primitive recursive functions, Cantor pairing function and computably enumerable sets (including a proof of existence of a one-complete computably enumerable set and a proof of the Rice’s theorem).
متن کاملOn an Algebraic Classification of Multidimensional Recursively Enumerable Sets Expressible in Formal Arithmetical Systems
Algebraic representations of multidimensional recursively enumerable sets which are expressible in formal arithmetical systems based on the signatures ) , , , 0 ( S , ) , , , 0 ( S , ) , , 0 ( S , where 1 ) ( x x S , are introduced and investigated. The equivalence is established between the algebraic and logical representations of multidimensional recursively enumerable sets expr...
